My latest Rossi came with that stupid safety on it too. What did you use to fill the hole, and where did you get that follower

I have 2 amadeo rossi 92 trappers with 16" bbls in 357 mag and 44 mag that were made before taurus bought rossi.
No pigtail safety switches on either of them.
They are nice and light with the right lop for a girl of my small stature.
My favorite manitoulin deer rifles.
My bros loads the rounds with his own cast lead bullets.
They drop deer dead in their tracks within 100 yards.

Just Google Steve's Gunz. I bought the DVD kit which includes the mag follower and ejector spring along with an awesome instruction video on slicking up the action. Add the safety replacement plug and it's about $90 shipped.

Saved a pile on the two Rossi's I have by contouring, polishing & bluing the stock safety lever myself. I machined my own mag followers from brass round stock along with neutralizing the hammer safety with a dab of Loctite 545.

I bought this Winchester Model 71 back in November. It was advertised as a Deluxe, but I'm unsure if it has been modified to appear like a Deluxe.. The sling studs are different than another Model 71 that I own. These are a normal width, which will make it easy and much cheaper to get swivels for, but not factory as far as I can tell. I also know that the Model 71 was available with a shotgun butt, but again the rubber on this one is different then the other one I own and the pictures I've seen on here. Then there are the (2) compasses that have been added, they have to be a previous owner's modification. Can anyone comment about the checkering. Does this checkering appear to be factory? Not sure how to tell other than if the pattern or size differs from other known Deluxes.
Factory Deluxe or not, this is one nice rifle. Can't wait to run some rounds through it. Just can't seem to make time for the range these days.

I believe the forearm checkering is an incorrect shape. Unless Winchester changed the pattern at some point, it would appear that is not original checkering.

I figured its time for me to post my lever collection. I feel that its a good start but I would like to add a few more. A couple of safe queens and a shooter.

Winchester 1895 SLC .303 grizzly gun

Just bought this from my son, who got it from this original owner:

"It has seen many, many miles in a leather saddle scabbard and bluing is worn, of course...I owned and used it for about 40 years and she saved my butt on a couple occasions when I was guiding grizzly hunters...It was a gift from the guide outfitter I was working under at the time. He loaned me the rifle to back him up on a grizzly that an American hunter wounded.....I was able to get 5 fast shots in the bear before it went down at his feet. His rifle was tangled in the damn alder. Anyways he gave me the gun in appreciation...A few years later another wounded grizzly got him and he didn't make it home that time....The family is still in the guiding business but in the Yukon now."
