Old Marlin .30-30. Had to put some parts on it and a lot of love into it when I got it, but its treating me well so far. Needs a make over though, Serial number puts it at a 1977 build date.

Aside from the stretchy black stock cover/ammo holder - this rifle is GORGEOUS. I really like the tarnished wood near the top of the stock by the hammer where oil from hands has stained it. Looks used, the flat tab hammer upgrade is a cool bonus.

^^^ savage 99s are one of the best classic guns going. They look great and they hunt even better. It’s my go to inside of 200 yards (cause optics are for squares)

[FONT=&quot]Just got this in the mail today. A Marlin model 1889, chambered in 38 W (38-40) It was shipped from the Marlin factory in December of 1889. So it is a first year rifle. Full octagon barrel, still some colour case hardening on the lever. The bore is beautiful. I hope to get it to the range this week.

Just bought the Marlin 1895 SBL from Wanstalls, great group to deal with. Of course I had to upgrade, put in a Wild West guns trigger happy kit, bear proof ejector and a brass follower. I also bought a nice black leather sling, just waiting for my stainless steel sling swivels to come in. Trigger happy kit reduced trigger pull down to 2.5 lbs

Polymer on the action? I havent seen any.

I like my Henry All Weather so much, I bought a second. This one has 24k gold inlay on the engraving.

Ladies and gentlemen, my Henry Wildlife Edition 45-70.

The early made ones had plastic polymer in their actions. I had one and it broke. Took it to the gunsmith and he couldn't believe it. Pulled the action apart and there was small bits and some filings, or so we thought. The rocker, transfer bar, trigger lock, lever screw was hairline cracked, and the carrier showed premature wear after only 9 rounds. Upon further inspection, we discovered that these parts were made of some space age polymer. We suspected aluminum at first. I returned the gun, and they sent me new a one. But accuracy was poor at best and I didn't trust the action after the first mishap. I sent it back and received a warranty voucher. Nice looking gun though.

You would imagine other people would have had this issue with polymer in the action. I havent read anything to back up your claim. Nice try.
