It looks like a firing pin from an old Belgian SXS hammer gun I used to have. Also looks like an anvil from a small dial bore gauge.

The correct answer is "Connector Plunger"

I was cleaning up the bench after a customer rifle was buttoned up.

This was one of the "left over" parts after attaching the stripped Connector rod assy to the stock (as part of a Faux Selector).

I figured very few ppl actually know what this part actually is... So I took a few pics!
