What do you use? Tent? Camper? Hotel?
Lets see your setup.
This year my nephew and I just used a nylon tent on our elk hunt. I haven't got a pole/frame system figured out yet for the big canvas tent I picked up for a steal of a deal.
I'm just curious how others set up.
Thanks!

Worked good last year so I'll skip the tent again this year and crash in the back of the cherokee on a nice thick memory foam.
We were warned last year of a grizzly right in my hunting area by a CO on the way in so I feel good about this set up. Highly mobile and I get good night sleep no matter the weather ;)

This is our bush camp in NE Sask. And the setup I use for hunting in remote wilderness. The Kifaru Tipi and folding stainless steel woodstove is light and versatile and can be used in any weather. I feel a wood stove is mandatory if the weather is cold and wet. As I get older, I appreciate the real bed, running water and indoor toilet in our camp cabin. Both are wonderful, in different ways. For the last 22 years, we spend a week in the wall tent for rifle hunting whitetails.

open fires in the teepee tents is probably not a good idea due to potential of sparks hitting the fabric.
We use an old school prospector woodstove similar to what Longwalker has in his pic.

My campsite pics all have people in them, next time I’ll take some of just the campsite.

But here’s the hunting cabin we use in eastern Ontario when we want to combine hunting with some R&R.

These are from last year when we decided on crossbows for late-season deer. Things are not as easy after the rut, even more so without rifles, so the comfort of a cabin is good consolation in case we don’t fill tags.

I like keeping things simple with fixed broadheads (Montec G5’s) but my nephew likes his mechanicals. Even though there’s more to go wrong, I have to admit the slipcam mechanism is pretty neat. Not much difference from the deer’s perspective.

Regarding outfitter tents, does/has anybody ever used ratchet straps between trees rather than big poles? I'm going to rig up an internal frame eventually, but straps would sure be easy and light to pack. (Obviously this would not work out in the open, lol)

Never use ratchet straps for the tent proper but have use extended ratchet straps to suspend the fly over our sleeping/kitchen tents (our tents have internal frames).
