Lets see some .338 edge's

Here is an old pic of my edge, ATRS built, Rem stainless action, 30" barrel. Pushes the berger hybrid 2930fps. Yup that's a Bushy 4200 tactical, I was going to replace it with a NXS or mk4 but the glass is good, it tracks very well, has enough elevation to reach out to 1500 yards and I don't want to mess with success. The only thing added since this pic is a vortex bubble level from One Shot tac.

and a couple of groups from 1200 yards shot this morning.

Top 3 are my first of the day (4.8"), the 2 shots I moved two clicks down 2 left, looks like I should have gone 3 each, oh well next time. I only shot two as I realised that I only have 20 hybrids left. :( The bottom right shot is from my 300rum. I had been shooting it at 800, and had one round left and let her rip.

Nice groups!!! My brother is in Cranbrook...seems like some nice country around those parts.

How is your rem set up with regard to the magazine? Nice looking gun btw

I have a 4200 tactical on my .338 lapua, was supposed to be temporary but now it staying, had good success with mine as well. Trying out a 6500 on my .260

The area around here is very beautiful, the town itself is just another small city with a big housing price tag, I was house shopping this afternoon :( But the mountians here make it well worth it!

It was chambered to seat the sierra MK to factory BDL mag length, I can touch the lands and still fit the mag with everything but the bergers I single load the berger's. The top round in the magazine gets deformed under recoil, it will break the tip off of an accubond or dent a mk, the TTSX is the only bullet that seems to survive in the mag. I might go to the Seekins bottom metal or the wyatts box just to see if that gives enough room to not crush the tips. Maybe I will make a box myself with a little ridge near the shoulder to stop the casings from moving.

The shooting this morning was great, the conditions were near perfect with no mirage and only a fart of a breeze. It sure makes getting good groups much easier!

Sounds to me like it would be a better hunting round than a target round.

The assumption that the 338Edge is somehow lacking in accuracy as compared to the 338Lapua is incorrect.

Neither one are ideal target rounds, but at 1000 plus it is the shooter not the cartridge or gun.

The Lapua Brass is excellent in quality and amazing in durability.
That said if you intend to get serious about the abilities of a big 338 you probably know your way around blueprinting brass.
The 338Edge is more of the same.

In terms of pure accuracy something like the 6mmbr is more what I consider a target round.

Here's my second Edge, just before I bought it. It's wearing a 8.5-50 x 50 Mark 4 with TMR now. It's a Shawn Carlock canyon rifle, built on a Bat repeater action, 30" fluted Hart barrel,DE brake, Jewel trigger, HS Precision stock with Carlock adjustable cheek-piece. Weighs 14.7 pounds, scoped.

Google .338 edge and quite bit come up from a guy in the US who helped to main stream the cartridge. Defensive Edge is the company I believe. I think he coined the edge name however the .338-300 ultra has been around for a while. For something really interesting google .338 sin A newer wildcat that can be built using standard long action mag boxes. It is basically a 330 dakota improved. The guy who developed it is getting 3005 FPS with a 250 grain Sierra bullet loaded to an OAL that fits in a savage long action box mag

That sounds very interesting.

Well, it may not be bleach bottles, but it is something thin. Stareing at the extra one I ordered, it is painfully apparent that I have made some bad life choices. Like for instance, the real money is in cheekpieces.

Bwhaha!
LMFAO! :D

True that!
