I still feel NEA dropped the ball with these lowers, as being sold. Old saying of grasping defeat from the jaws of victory.

The Swiss guns, by and large, are only sold here in Canada in black or green. Yes, I know the whatever red devils, blue monkeys or whatever they are, but 99% black and green.

NEA spent a lot of time and money on these, so why not finish them off accordingly, black or green colour match spray and bake finish?

If the civilian market is not that big of a deal, OK I can understand that. But if it is enough to be worth while, then spend the extra $50, sub-contract even, and do them.

Your upset because the finish doesn't match? Are you a dude or a chick?

I guess I should post an updated pic of my collection.

I got the carbine recently. I'm looking to get rid of the quad rail and replace it with the stock hand guard as I don't really have a use for it and it's just dead weight for me.

That's what I did as well. It's not light weight, and I REALLY don't need that much rail space. Plus, the stock handguard is much for comfortable than any rail attachment or covers.

I tried posting a WTT ad to see if someone would trade + cash... no luck there... ended up selling the rail for like $300, and had to buy new furniture from TSE for $200! :(

I've seen a few autobody paint shops with the same theory. For a three K rifle, yes it matters. For something you're issued that's going to be treated like crap, you don't actually own, and passed around then I guess not.

With the new lower, and all the other accessories to go with it, I think I'm into mine for $4300+. So ya, do I want it to match, yes. To do a powder coat or a teflon finish would probably add $30ish a piece to each unit by bulk, at most.

I just think it would help to sell the lowers to those on the fence, if it's already finished like the rifle they have. But hey, it ain't my company or my investment money, so it's easy for me to talk.

I've played with enough guns that didn't cost me anything (other than sweat) and some weren't pretty. So if it's my money, I'd like them to match. Life is too short to own an ugly gun.
