Speaking of great Grouse and Rabbit guns just picked up, I just got this Tolley. It's a single shot. Now I know that technically speaking it doesn't qualify in this thread, but I think it's in the spirit.

Here's a pic of the whole gun I just took and also the barrel flats. Not so good with figuring out the date. The proofs marks suggest sometime between 1925 and 1954 but as far as date stamps go, I can never relate what I am looking at to what is in the book. Sorry for the lousy photo.

I have two SxS's that I use. The first is an English 12ga straight stock SxS, my 'sunny' day Grouse gun.
Bad weather I use a Ruger Red Label 20ga OU.
For 'birds on the water', an AYA 10ga Mag.

Most of what I've put through it, in past, has been 2oz Federal Premium factory loads and 2 1/4oz handloads. To me, what the recoil 'feels' like is similar to the kick I get from 45-70 handloads out of my Marlin 1895GS. Substancial, but with the weight of the shotgun, not punishing.
