I am not sure what this is really, but from what I can tell it's a W.H. Tisdall antique side-by-side external hammer shotgun with damascus barrels. There is a small repair to the left barrel, repair to the stock (the knot in the stock likely cracked with aging). The words”W.H. Tisdall 47 Whittall St Birmingham” on the top of the barrel rib, but other than that, nothing. Anybody know what this is and it's age?? Currently registered Non-Restricted but pretty sure I can have status changed to antique...I wouldn't shoot modern ammo in this thing.

jpbcal308, that little Fox is spectacular, I don't like short barrels, but I could make this one exception. I'm fairly cretain the "G Gensshow" is made by Merkel, I see similar guns regularly with "vendors" names on the rib.
bladerogers, Tisdall is a well known British maker, why do you think it could be deregistered? Is it in some odd-ball gauge??
"Wiliam Henry Tisdall was probably the brother of the Tisdall of Tisdall & Co and Tisdall & Earp of 16 St Mary's Row.
William established his firm in 1863 at Court, 5 Steelhouse Lane. In 1868 he moved to 40 Digby Street, and in 1874 to 47 Whittall Street.
In 1879 he patented a drop-down barrel action (No. 2177).
In 1893 the firm moved to 18 Sand Street, they were not recorded after 1900.
William Henry Tisdall may have been related to John Tisdall of Chichester, Sussex."
oberndorf, I have a "Trust Eibares" the same as yours but in 16 gauge listed on the EE right now. Does your have AYA marks on it?
Here is another of my favourites, J. Y. Potter 16 gauge BLNE with 29" barrels, completely refinished and an absolute dream to hunt.

That certainly looks to be a well made sxs. Out of curiosity, did you acquire that from Tradeex?
Quality craftsmanship aside, the SXS guns that really speak to me are those perhaps in 10 bore and to be honest above. To my mind the history in those guns goes back to an era that will never be repeated.

Very nice find. Somehow I missed noticing the gun in this thread. Now I know who scooped it up in less than 24hrs following the ad for that

Keep the Pictures coming gentlemen, it helps me just to know there are more people out there that can't get enough sxs's. Yes i know the collection is getting rather large and I should part with a few but I can't decide which ones to let go. 1894 where did you find the paradox? Have you shot it and if so how does it shoot? Do you gentlemem shoot your old guns or just collect?

I have kept this English Double (James & Co Birm) around for years just because of the wrist repair. There are a total of 58 brass screws and two copper pins!!! They didn't throw them away back then.....

Well, it's all art, just different. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am not really a fan of the "tactical" scene and the mall ninja antics, but we all love guns even if they don't all look the same.
Great pics and gorgeous guns, BTW. Makes me want to find a nice 20gs SxS for upland game this year.
