New 8.5" Grizzly with Magpul SGA, SGA receiver sling mount, S&J safety, Padded VCAS and on order is a Dlask happy cap. I'm rather impressed with this little thing, it'll be tagging along this summer for sure.
I chrono'd a few slug loads and the results were rather impressive. Daytime muzzle flash was very minimal even on the hotter loads. Muzzle blast was no worse than any 12.5", 14", 18", or 20" shotgun I've owned.
Remington Managed Recoil 1 oz slug, advertised MV 1200 FPS, 12 yds
Royal Brenneke 1 1/8 oz slug, advertised MV 1410 FPS, 12 yds
Federal 1 1/4 oz slug, advertised MV 1560 FPS, 12 yds
Recoil with all loads was manageable. The Remington's were a soft thump, the Brennekes were an aggressive thump, the Federals were a vicious kaboom. Like a cannon

However felt recoil was nicer than the same loads in other shotguns. The Magpul recoil pad works very well. The Federals were just too much from the 12.5" Grizzly with Hogue 12" LOP stock and the Maverick 88 with both the OE and ATI buttstocks I use on it. If angry carebears are givin ya grief, I'd have no qualms givin em hell with either the Brenneke or Federal loads from the 8.5".
