Hey there mate, did you do the conversion to let it fir 3" shells? I have a wingmaster with a pitted barrel made in 79 and wanted to know if I purchased a new barrel that could fire both 2 3/4 " and 3" how easy is the modification to the rest of the shotgun? That is if you did it, lol

No I did not. The 2.75 shell size covers pretty well all my needs, as Im not a hunter of waterfoul. If I need something different, I just reoald it as I have both a Ponsness Warren 800c fully progressive press, as well as a Pasific 105DL single stage press in the reloading room.

The limiting factor that determines what size of shell you can fire is the receiver. In your case you would still be limited to using 2.75 shell as that is what your reciver is. That being said it is possible to take the gun to a smith to have it modified, but as I wanted it for "defensive or Tactical" type shooting, the smith I talked to suggest that I spend the money on shell instead of changing the extractor and pratice.

You have to understand the 870 is one of the most flexible shotguns out there, and as a result there are all kinds of parts available to mod or "pimp" out your gun as you whish.
I have built at least half a dozen different configuration from full out trap gun, to old school police type builds with 20" barrels, to what you see above. I am not a smith, but I am handy. All of the mods you see in the above picture are either "Swap out" or bolt on. Get yourself a good manual on how to disassmeble the gun, and your of to the races.
regards and all the best
