I think maybe I've been equating a Fighting gun with a tactical one.
The length of the weapon might be what makes it tactical.
I mean a Riot gun is a tactical gun. A military shotgun is tactical. Even a coach gun is a good tactic for an old west bar fight.
They all have shorter barrels making them handier in urban or building situations.
A wood stocked shotgun can fill the same role as a Specops stocked one so color and furniture isn't the issue. I think it's length above all else.

Here is my Fabarm Martial Pro Forces 14" (as when new)
14" Barrel - light weight easy/quick to shoulder and aim
- does not get hung up in dense brush
LPA sights - good for shooting deer, bear, moose, and turkey at distance
(shotgun only by request of the property owners)
- good for shooting targets (paper, pumpkins, etc)
Pic. Rail - to mount Eotech (holo sight - any sight)
- holo sight also excellent to hunt with come dusk or dawn
Pistol grip - pointability and handling (after trying both, I prefer PG)
Black parkerizing/coating - tough, non reflective, (attractive)
Composite furniture - also tough, non reflective and water resistant.
I chose the Fabarm for its ultra slick action, build quality, accuracy, bang for the buck, and most importantly it fits absolutely perfect (LOP, drop, etc). I am very comfortable shooting it. It is accurate out to 100 yards and will place shots very well with slugs, shot, etc. It is easy to carry over long distances and through dense brush. Comes in a fitted case and has external chokes for turkey etc. It is the most versatile and pleasant shotgun I have shot to date. (tried Mossberg, Rem 870, Winchester, Baikal, Stoeger, etc)
Though I do not need lights, side saddles, lasers, extra pic rails, heat shields, etc., I do not bemoan others that do, nor should anyone else.

Nice! what are our thoughts on the pistol grip? I don't care for them so I switched mine out on my Promartial 14...The one like your with out the rail and fiber optic G-rings.
Man I like that SG...Love Ghost rings for slugs. Posts and beads are great for buckshot bit those G-rings are surgical with slugs.

I love the pistol grip... fits perfect this way and I find it easier/quicker pointing... easy to be on target... over the reg stock. I found that out using the Armalite AR180... love the PG stocks...
The LPA sights are very good. The 14" shoots very straight with slugs. The Brenneke's are very accurate and hard hitting.
Yes... IMHO the Fabarm shotguns are the best of the bunch... and I have tried a bunch.

All assembled at S&J Hardware
- the original shotgun and extra mag came from CanadaAmmo
- AR870-CQB adapter from S&J, of course
- FAB Defense forend and front sight from S&J
- Magpul CTR stock, buffer tube, and ARMS#40 rear sight supplied by me (Brownells and other sources)
total cost: around 1200$

Here are two of my plain jane jobs,sorry no stuff hanging off them!
Which do you like better to shoot? I went with the 12.5 incher and kinda think maybe I would have enjoyed the 15" mag fed.
The grizz mag is a lot of fun to shoot,i like that one a lot.The one in the bottom pic is a Norc HP9,its threaded for chokes and i have a nice tight Turkey choke for it.....that's going out on one of my Turkey hunt days just to see what happens.........never know,could be some Zombie Toms' out there!!
With the stock inline with the bore a proper cheek weld with a bead sight is impossible. Couple that with the fact the sights are in fact AR15 back up sights and you have your answer.
