Lets see some pics of your Tacticool VZ 58/858s

I would have to agree. You can't be getting any kind of cheek weld with that Lucid on there. It looks kinda goofy on a nice rifle.

Yes i agree, trying out different optics i have on hand. Just happened to be still on there when i took the pic's. Looking at getting a Ultra Dot Pan-A-V Red Dot Sight. or .Ultra Dot 6 sight.

Alright, another "blast from the past".. :)

Here is a better one of the stock. Big props and thanks to the paint guide found in this sub forum (Emilio613's CZ858 (and other gun) CAMO PAINT GUIDE!). I had the M4 style on it (which I liked) but it took away the Eastern European feel to the rifle so I painted the stock!

Yes and no. The NEA railed adaptor is too high, the CSA inline adaptor on the CSA M4 lines my eye up with the irons perfectly. The angled ones are definetely good for using irons but the compact inline adaptors do work too. The inline ACE adaptor with an AKFX will not allow irons on the middle and upper setting but will with the lowest. Having the buttstock inline helps reduce muzzle flip so it depends on what you want out of it.

keep in mind that if you get a "straight tube" style m4 set-up...u will not be able to use the original iron sights. Fab defense makes a good line of stocks for the 58 that are all sloped down like the original....also fab defense makes IMHO the best pistol grip for the 58 out there......all these are available at wolverine

if you really want a m4 style stock....get the nea adapter, it will angle the stock correctly....and if you install a magpul CTR buttstock...you can buy snap on cheek risers for a scope, if you install it later

I did the same thing too, got tired of it looking like an AR, it has to look more commie.

here is a montage of my rifle through the years... as trends changed

... just a thought
... w/rear sight replacing Scout Mount

... and another thought, but the reflex sight could not handle the stress (so it is on a .22 now)

... plus a couple of how it looks at this moment...
... not the scope that will end up on it, but the only scope I had handy at the time
... I customized an old Russian mount, w/brass deflector
... and the stock is a clone of a Hungarian sa-85m, that I made

I just looked through all of the posts. They all look really good. What kind of paint should you use and what kind of prep would you do to a stock cz-858? I would like to paint it black. Which colour of black?
