Lets see some pics of your Tacticool VZ 58/858s

I did a do for TFB TV:

Very good video. Nicely done. What extended bolt release did you showcase (3:12)? I have the ambi mag release and would love to find an ambi or lefty version of the bolt release.

I understand West rifle is making an all Canadian vz version. It'd be nice if they built a vz pistol so that we all have access to 10 rnd x39 vz mags.

I started shooting tac rifle competitions this year. Like you, I choose not to convert my 858 to stanag mags. Consequently the 5 round limit is a considerable disadvantage. To a lesser degree, my lack of bolt release is another disadvantage.

That's correct, I've been using the Zahal enhanced controls, which come out of Czech Republic.

Whether it's Dlask, NEA, or Zahal, I definitely feel an enhanced mag release and extended bolt release make the biggest possible difference to shoot these guns. Given the choice between upgrading the controls, or upgrading the stock, or optics, or brake: I'd choose controls every time.

Now if only someone would make a damn ambidextrous safety again! I think B-files brought in some ungodly expensive one from Czech Republic.

*Bonus fact* that country changed their name this year. It's officially Czechia according to the parliament there now.

It's CSA's fault for turning the safety the other way around. :p

If we had ten rounders, it would be a very good option for tac matches. I've taken mine to matches uncleaned and unoiled after it spent 2 weeks marinating in the residues (non corrosive x39) of 200 rounds from two different shooting sessions. Never had a problem. They are very reliable. My magazine handicap is often offset by some of the other competitors having ar reliability problems. End result is that without being an exceptional shooter I often end up ranking somewhere in the middle of the pack despite my 5 rounders... That is if I don't mess up too much by killing too many hostages, or leaving undead bad guys that I failed to notice... But that is not the gun's fault.

Big thanks to Corwin Arms for the new railed upper handguard and slant brake. The burris fastfire 3 with the protective hood, or iron sights? hmm... I like both. And now I have the option to.
I like shooting with iron sights, but I wish I could open up the front hood - the front sight post is almost touching the top of the hood. I can still make it work, but it's a bit annoying.
Does anyone know where I can get the top half of the front sight hood cut off in the Vancouver area? I don't have the metal cutting tools to do the quick job.

Another option, if the front post is too high, would be to remove the post itself and zing off the top few mm with a dremel and reinstall. Less intrusive than cutting the hood. I've got a dremel, if you need it...

Range day with the Vz58, shorty mag, jenky bi-pod, some Zahal stuff and perfect weather. 300m gong was no problem, was using Barnaul non-corr 123g.

It's not 100% complete but i'm happy the damned Zhukov stock finally arrived at my door.
Don't forget to click the pictures for larger size and quality.

No, unfortunately I'm not able to co-witness. I have to choose irons or the red dot
I just got my corwin upper hand guard today. And mine does cowitness with my Holosun in its low mount... !! In order to get it to cowitness I have to adjust elevation of the rear iron sight all the way up to the 800 m setting. So no, it didn't really cowitness. 😞
