Here's the pig. Rebuilt, tightened and sporting a new coat.

Gun is totally blasted, and coated with a great anti-corrosive lubricating solution. Best of all.. cheap as hell, and doesn't require refinishing of any kind. Will work with new or old rifles. Can be done with any rifle or pistol.

The only reason that we blasted the rifle was to test that with zero cleaning, bare metal would take the corrosive salts, water and dirt etc...

Will this anti-corrosive lubricating solution be able to be applied to chrome-lined barrels like in the VZ58? How durable is this coating and how did it hold up in your testing?

It is able to be applied to everything and anything metal. It resists corrosive salts, carbon buildup and rust. Offers superior lubrication and rust prevention in both arctic and desert environments.

..still in testing here, but has already been tested and proven domestically and overseas. It's currently being fielded in Iraq and Afghanistan by a couple Marine units. Combat troops have reported that their rifles are shooting more accurately and reliably now. One unit in Iraq reported a 75% decrease in AR malfunctions.

I don't believe that it was designed to be used as we are testing it (on bare metal rifles), but if it stands up to that then I'm impressed. If it meets our testing requirements it'll be available to the general public shortly. Cheap-cheap.

I'll start a new thread on this shortly, I don't want to bogart the thread.

Would you be able to comment on the corrosion resistance? I think it might have been in the vid testing the NEA QD cantilever mount that said you had run 3000+ rounds without cleaning?

Yeah, I actually got it to drop on top of my Swiss for <100m playing. Not a big fan... it wasn't long before my M2 went back up. Still searching for the right optic for this gun.
 
How was the front sight base cut? I like it but I'd rather have it cut, heightened with an adaptor and THEN place the folding front sight on it. Now that is a long sight radius.

The FS was just chopped parallel with the barrel and then the edges beveled to give it more of a contour. It would be too easy to TIG a small piece of Pic to the FSB in order to put some flip-ups. But to make it on the same plane as the BUIS's here, you'd have to build up a platform and you'd end up with quite a lot of material out near the front of your gun. If you just wanted to use flip ups with the stock rear sight, that would be much cleaner, but then why chop the sight in the first place?

I don't have any VZ with full front sights anymore, but I imagine you could take NEA's barrel clamp, turn it 180 and snug it up to the FSB.
