I have heard the species described as Sycamore by one fellow. I prefer to think of that as Birch or Maple. It certainly isn't Beech. What are the maker's marks on that one? LB, Savage or British?

It's a Longbranch 1943, CA and C broad arrow marked. I was told it was maple, but I'm no expert
