Mr. Sparkle!
Didn't anyone let you know you can reload between stages?

Crap! Now you tell me! :)

Generally it is the belt or the chest rig, not both... depends on what the stage calls for. Be prepared!

Plus, for JoKa's CDTSA shotgun stages, you need to carry mucho ammo!

Events that use IPSC rules are belt only. In the US most I know use chest rigs. It depends on what hand you use to reload. I'm pitiful at best but prefer weak hand blind loading. I can't handle four shells at once and spray them all over the place so I stick with three shells at a time from a vertical caddy.

You shotgun folks....anyone running a remington versamax tactical? I know it is chambered for 3" ...so max tube capacity should be 5... (3"x5 = 15"), although i assumed it would hold 5 + some wiggle room. So how many 2 3/4 will it hold in the tube?

I have one that will just barely hold six 2.75 shells. It has an eight round capacity extension to which I add a plus one or plus two cap after I pull out the plug I rigged myself for shooting when in the US. My gun was race prepared by Benny Hill who is a "guru" in Corpus Christi Texas where I spend winters.

You're going to be one round down on the Versamax Sportsman guys; Mo - you'll be 7+1 instead of 8+1.

Rather than thinking in terms of "max tube capacity should be 5", think "not able to hold 6" shells". That gives you almost 18" of space in the tube to hold 6 2.75" shells in the VersaMax Tactical. Then one in the chamber and one on the lifter for a maximum capacity of 8. The non tactical versions of the VersaMax are stamped 3.5", which give you the capacity to add one more in the tube.

2016 iteration of my 3-gun set-up. A practical/tactical set-up to match my Glock 34. I might have to add a CZ Shadow 2 for 2017......... Now if I could only shoot better!

- Glock 34 Gen 4: Taran Tactical sights and springs, with an Agency Arms magwell. Surefire X300U-B keeps the muzzle, nice and level.
- Benelli M2 21": Taran Tactical, Hi-Viz, Noveske, Nordic Components, Match Savers, GG&G, etc.
- KAC SR-15 Mod 2: MIAD, Surefire 556 Socom, Aero Ultralight mount and Trijicon TR-24G.
- Volund Gearworks Micro Belt, with HSGI mag and bleeder pouches, Carbon Arms Pinwheels, and Blade Tech Teck Lock attachments with TMMS.
