Above is completely incorrect information.
1911 was designed by Browning. Colt had exclusive rights to sell Browning designs in North America, FN in Europe. Colt and FN did not own designes, they were Browning patented. FN had no real interest in Browning 1911 work, but in other projects. That is why FN didn't make any 1911 handguns though they could have.
M1935 was designed by Dieudonné Saive who used some Browning ideas, but it was mostly Saive work. FN had patent on High Power (which is never called BHP in Europe).
