Lets see your savage !

That looks like a slick setup. Wasn't digging the stock sights ?

First 9 years in the army was with the FNC1 aperture sight. I never really transitioned to scopes and always shot my best with peeps. This rifle's rear sight broke off in an alder swamp and had to be replaced. The rear sight is very high and the single screw does not grasp it very well.

Here are mine an 11 hunter and a 12FV both in .223.

Which savage .308 rifle is better?
Scout 11 or hog hunter
I like the way both look but the scout is my
Favourite. I'm concerned about where the rail is located for the scope tho. It looks to far up the rifle

Twincamharley - how do u like the trr-sr? I have te savage 64 tr-sr semi auto 22LR and interested how yours is holding up. What's the material coating the wood stock ? Is it ok to get oil on it?
Thx

Love my .223 Hog Hunter.I don't shoot past 600 yards, already have an AR so lots of ammo around plus my kids love shooting my .223s.

Looked at many rifles but when I bought my Hog Hunter it was 479.00 CDN.

I wanted metal back up sights, a threaded barrel, plastic stock.

No regrets, everyone who shoots it loves it. I did add a cheek rest and made the stock more rigid.

Some say its fugly but I don't care it's there to do a job not to just be fondled.....

Well the bipod is attached to the area I strengthened with metal rod and epoxy so the barrel stays free floating. I was shooting at 300 yards and got schooled by my Army buddy. He said stop using my pussy shooting table fold up the bipod and get on the fu_king ground where a shooter should be. Far as standing only done that a bit, but I love the short heavier barrel all in all its a great all round gun with or without optics.
