More likley to be charged by a cow then a bear. People that are obsessed with bear defense #### spend more time in front of the computer then the bush.

Anyway back to some sweet pics.
just over 20 years ago I was hunting deer on opening day
temperature was in the low 70's and I was on crown land
I happened upon a really nasty bull that charged me
luckily I had time to climb a tree

I was up that tree for over 2 hours sweating my butt off in the hot sunshine
to this day I don't remember climbing the tree or how I managed to hold onto my marlin 1894, but I did
the bull must have been physic because just when I started thinking about shooting it, it wandered off

Dont have it yet but have been thinking getting a Ruger Guide Gun in 375 Ruger. Had my eyes on it for a while but in the middle of building a Remington 700 so dont think the girlfriend would like me spending all my money on guns.

I've been wanting one for awhile as well, even went out and bought brass already, but I never see the damned things in stock anywhere and I presume with our crappy dollar that any new ones imported are going to be quite pricey.

I can't remember the last time I saw one on their webpage in 375 Ruger, mind you I stopped looking for probably 5 months after never seeing any in stock there or anywhere else. Eventually I'll see one and scoop it up.....

Iron Sighted if you have a Korth Distributor near you they may be able to get one, I know they brought some in around a year ago.

23gr of w296 under 240gr cast for the big stuff, and 7.5gr of unique for little stuff. Going to try to get a bear with it this spring.

Max you wouldn't happen to be interested in selling your 454 Casull would you?

I have the 20" barreled version and would love to have the 16" barreled model for my son my 20" with a shortened buttstock is just to barrel heavy for him still.

I'm also a 6.8spc fan sold my XCR-L last fall bought a 22" factory tapered/fluted barreled Rem 700 LTR also have a 23" barreled T/C Contender carbine 6.8spc barrel loaded with 95gr TTSX or 110gr Accubonds these are 300 yard deer combo's I'm now loading 110gr V-Max for coyotes but been hearing they will also due to their slightly heavier construction work well on deer.

This is my 416, a Taylor built by my late Brother over 20 years ago when he attended school in Trinidad Colorado.
Weight as pictured is 9.5 lbs., and makes for a nice powerful package.
He tagged his first Yukon Bison with it as well as numerous Moose and a couple big Bears.
Its built on a '03-A3 Springfield with an octagon Douglas Premium barrel.
According to him it had enough power that it " Coulda been a single shot "..
Function is as smooth as a watch and I for one would not want it an ounce lighter...

Kevan,

I have to bump this as this is one heck of a nice rifle. You've mentioned before about having a few of your brother's rifles --- through his work, it's evident he was very talented and had an excellent sense of style and function. Really really impressive looking rifle.

Camp Cook, I also had a 20" model and I sold it a couple years ago to buy a 16" stainless model, took until about a month ago to find one, new in the box none the less.

I only shoot 95gr TTSX in my 6.8, I'm using RL10X because I have 6 pounds of it and I couldn't find AA2200, running a hair over 2850fps

Thats a score on that 16".

In my XCR-L with 95gr TTSX I was getting 2825fps with H322 and 2880fps with AA2200 same AA2200 load does 2960fps in the 23" Contender barrel shot 4 deer with the 95gr TTSX now.

We've sold a lot in 375 Ruger but they are typically sold before they reach the store.

Yeah, I understand, I really should have pre-ordered, it's my own fault. I certainly didn't mean what I said as a criticism, more an observation that no one ever seems to have them listed in stock. Truth be told, if I end up buying new it'll almost certainly be from PRF, I haven't had a bad transaction yet from any CGN sponsors (or on the EE for that matter), but after buying from you once I now have a benchmark for customer service that I use to gauge all others by, top notch for sure.
