Lets see your Winchester Model 70 featherweights!

Years ago, I had a dream to build a really nice mountain hunting rifle. But I'm too poor to afford to build what I wanted from the ground up. I was looking for CRF, decent walnut stock, Stainless action and barrel in a short action cartridge that was suitable up to 400ish yards.

I hmmmed and hawed for a few years on what to get. I kind of wanted and "old meets new" vibe to the rifle. Finally, 2 years ago, when prices seemed to be rising by the day (on everything) I pulled the trigger on a stainless Model 70 Featherweight in 6.5 Creedmoor. Made in Portugal and very well made at that. Precision Optics had one that was priced decently and was running a 15% off sale. I topped it with a Swarovski Z3 3.5-10x. Still need to do some work to find its preferred ammo but it shoots Hornady Precision Hunter 143gr ELD-X to about 1.5MOA. I'm on vacation for the next few weeks so I've got no pics right now. I'll post some when I get back.

308 made in south carolina at the FN plant in 2012 i.e zy date code. The new ones made in portugal at the browning viana plant do not have hammer forged barrels like the ones made at the fn plant in south carolina. The scope is a trijicon accupower 3-9x40mm moa
