Let's see your winchester pump shotguns

I'm an avid fan of Winchester Model 21's but a few nice M12's have come my way and I would like to share pics of these with Members. I'm hoping that other members will comment and share their favourites with everyone.
This gun is the hard to find 28 gauge, made in the first year offered (1937), 26" modified barrel. The gun was purchased new in Alberta by an avid upland bird hunter, who sold it to a friend who sold it to me. Somewhere along the line it was sent to Simmons for a vent rib and was most like engraved at the same time.

Great looking 28 gauge Bill!

I haven't owned many model 12's and only have one trap model right now but it's one of the most gratifying guns to shoot when you center a target with that very tight full choke.... inkballs!

I spent years wondering what the big deal was with the model 12. Never understood the guys at the range who fawned over them. That was until I picked up a 16ga model 12. I have owned three of these nicely proportioned guns, and love them. One was a 1947 that converted to a straight stock, a poly choked one from the 1950's and the 1953 that I currently own.

It came to me via a CGN'r as a plain field model. Well used but mechanically sound.

I had the barrel bobbed to 26", briley tubes installed, simmons rib and a re-blue done. Got a semi-inletted stock from "scatter gun stocks" before they closed up and fit and finished it myself.

Went a little crazy on the checkering. Don't look too closely....

I know I have way more into it than it will ever be worth and I know it is no longer original.

None of that matters on days like this.

I have the straight grip M12. Nothing like it for skittish Ruffed Grouse and odd Woodcock.

I love those model 12's . That one you checkered with the nice wood is beautiful, it doesn't matter if its not original anymore.

Here is a Win M97 made in the 40's and in 16 gauge (most were 12 gauges). This gun got my interest because of the engraving. Winchester gurus convinced me that it was not Winchester original, but rather after market engraving. Nevertheless, a good looking gun that handled well in the field.

Model 12 Skeet

Here is a Custom Model 12 Skeet from the 50's. A good friend did the wood.It has the Donut post vent rib and Dreaded cutts with spreader choke. It is deadly at skeet but very loud.

Very nice gun with killer wood.
Years ago, I had a similar gun and that Cutts gives incredible skeet patterns. Cutts were a favourite with serious skeet shooter back in the 40's and 50's and into the 60's. I used mine for fun shooting until a friend talked me out of it. Yes, there is lots of muzzle blast and that big bulge at the end of the barrel can be distracting.
