My heart aches after selling this one RA XCR-L with uppers in 223 & 6.8spc they really work as coyote combo's.

Bought the Rem 700 VTR to replace XCR-L and a Rem 700 LTR in 6.8spc to replace the 6.8spc upper.

Sold the VTR and installed the OD green Magpul Hunter stock onto the Rem 700 LTR in 6.8SPC have it loaded with 110gr V-Max @ 2800fps using MDT 10 round 223 mags they hold 8 rounds of 6.8SPC.

This is yesterdays 200 yard target I was switching over to the 110gr V-Max loads from my 95gr TTSX loads first 3 on lower left were my first three shots I fired as fast as I could action the bolt aim and fire.

Change the scope settings the next 5 shots once again as fast as I could aim and fire the top 3 shots where after another scope setting adjustment.

Still need to give 1 click to the right adjustment other than that and I need to load some more rounds this combo is ready for coyotes.

I have a VX3 4.5-14x40mm LR (30mm tube) varmint reticle scope on this rifle it is now zeroed dead on at 200 yards, first Varmint line down is dead on at 300 yards and just below the second line down is dead on at 400 yards.

I don't have any pics of my XCR-L right now, but it's the pencil barrel keymod version, and it's currently wearing a Viper PST 1-4, which might not be ideal for coyotes.

Good thing I always have my GSR as back up:

Now there's a gun I would love to see Remington put back into production.

You and me both. Safe to say it's my most accurate rifle, just an absolute laser beam. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. It had the gummy recoil pad but I fixed it up with something much better.

At this point I've only taken deer. I missed my first bear last year... hope to right that this spring!

So my question is (and please forgive my ignornace here) what is the reason for hunting coyotes?

Is it to preserve deer numbers?
Fur for whathaveyou?
Take out the mangey ones for their own good?
Just havin fun in the woods?

Would love to do it one day... but I don't think we have coyotes around here. We have wolf apparently though.

All of the above!
