Can't figure out how to post pix from my BlackBerry

My next will be a case colored rolling block with fancy wood in 25/35

Modern hunter shooting .243 win 55gr varm ballistic tips at about 3600-3650 FPS for coyotes. Still working on 75gr vmax loads for boars and 85 gr barnes for deer. Unfortunately haven't had it out hunting yotes yet, will hopefully get out in the next couple weeks sometime. Pic at the bottom was an HK SL8 that i sold to fund the MH, used to be my yote rig. It's the same vortex pst 2.5-10x44 in both pics.

T/C Contender carbine in 223 and I now also have 204 Ruger and 6.8SPC barrels that I am planning on breaking in this season.

Dec_08_to_Feb_09_066.jpg

I've also shoot a lot of coyotes with a 22-250, 6mm-284 or whatever rifle I was hunting big game with example just this fall I shot one at 35 yard while it was running at me with a 375JDJ loaded with a 235gr Claw bullet @ 2050fps and another the next morning with a 300RUM loaded with 200gr Accubonds @ 3200fps.

I also have a new to me Rem 700 Light Tactical in 6.8SPC going to load this with 110gr V-Max at 2750fps and a Rem 700 XCR 11 in 25-06 that I am working up a 90gr Blitzking load for = this winter these two are going to be my go to coyote rifles.

I looked those Modern Hunter rifles up on the ATRS site and suffered a bit of sticker shock. What makes them worth the listed $3500?

If I knew how too I would post pics

i'll try not to get too far off topic, but to answer your question: the reason that it was worth that for me is that I wanted a non restricted semi auto 243, so the options were limited (I considered a browning BAR as well). I also wanted a high quality, accurate rifle so this one fit the bill. As for what makes them worth the $3500 in general is a matter of opinion, but they are a top quality non restricted black rifle which resembles the very popular black rifles that most can only take to the range.

Part of the reason for the high cost is that the market for them is very small (canada only), so the development costs get spread over a small number of rifles. The other part of it is that the rifle is made by ATRS and they aren't known for being inexpensive... You're paying for the quality and support that they can offer and... think "ATRS Tax". Anyways, shoot me a PM or mosey on over to ATRS's forum if you have any more questions, there is lots of info over there.

Thank-you. I hadn't even heard of these till yesterday so was a bit surprised at the price. ATRS is known for producing a quality product.

Stacking them up ! Some beauty rifles in this thread ! Shows you the varying types of rifles, for yotes there is no "Set" or "go to". Heavy barrels, stainless, normal, wood stock, synth, bedded, un bedded, semi, bolt, We have it all ! keep them coming !!

Here is mine. Remington 700 chambered in 223 with a Nikon Monarch 5-20x44 scope, Leupold base & rings, and Harris bipod. Lots of people bad mouth the 700, but with 55gr Hornady Vmax bullets on top of 26 grains of Varget this rifle is more accurate than I am.

It may not be the prettiest, but then again neither am I, so we make a great team.

I was out deer hunting in the snow this morning.

Saw max 5 sets of deer tracks and at least 20 sets of coyote tracks = definitely going to try and take the time to thin out the coyote population this winter going to do my part to save a few fawns next spring.

Yes, lots of 700 bashing but I've yet to use one that didn't shoot ...... unless it had a shot out barrel .... because the guy used it so much .... because it was a good shooter.
