Let's talk triggers...

Maybe I don't know what a good trigger is, but all the triggers in my Remingtons, Rugers, and Brownings I find to be very very good with little or no creep and nice light crisp pull/break. My nicest trigger is in my 1960s Parker Hale Safari De Luxe believe it or not. There is a dark cloud in this happy tale, however, that being my Remington 7600. Simply put, this trigger is definitely not good and exhibits every single flaw a trigger can possess (lots of take-up, creep, heavy pull, and over travel). I have no intention of parting with this rifle even so, but can anything be done with the 7600s trigger?

Replace it with a Bold or Kepplinger.

I've read up on the Bold, it sounds easier to put in than the Timney. Never heard of the Kepplinger buy found them in Brownell's for a little over twice the cost of the others. Are they twice the performance I wonder?
I've been shooting the TC and 85 this hunting season, then took the Higgins to the range (with some other fun smoke poles) Friday afternoon to try out a box of blue box Federal 180's. They seemed to group well, but string out about 2 1/2 inches vertically. Noticing the poor performing trigger after pulling the others all fall got me thinking about what's inside that 60 year old rifle for workings. Thinking that it might improve with an updated trigger.
I know that the other rifles are set to the factory pull of 3 to 3 1/2 pounds but am curious about what say 2 1/2 pounds feels like. Might have to do some tinkering this winter and find out where my happy place is.

Check out Brownells; they used to have a trigger group that fit the 870, that i beieve would also fit the 7600.

Trying to get shooters to agree on triggers is like getting guys to agree on what they want in women.;) It all boils down to intended use and how sensitive your fingers are.:D

Bl-22

Looking at buying a new Browning BL-22. Looked at one over the counter and found the trigger pull to be pretty harsh.

Does anyone know if these triggers could be "worked on"?
