Leupold 2-7x33 Rimfire

I am looking for a Leupold 2-7x33 Rimfire for a semi-auto 22lr. They are $299 in the US and $490 in Canada. A bit rich.
Are there any deals to be had?

Currently I have a Mark AR 1.5-4x20 illuminated and while it is light and clear it has a 150y parallax and the finest reticle lines are 0.28mil thick  covering the grouse head at 50y and past that.
I saw them on clearance at my old Pro Shop in Canadian Tire, Cranbrook, BC. ( Leupold 2-7X33 Rimfire Scope)

I believe they were $385.00 on sale. Cost on this scope used to be $365.00, so it's a good price.

The telephone # is 250-489-3300.

I agree with DANS40X and others who recommend getting a really good quality scope--even for a .22LR. I have an older Leupold 3-9x33 EFR (with fine duplex reticle) scope on one of my .22s, and it would be hard to find a better all-around rimfire scope. It's compact--short and light (about 11 oz.). The 'EFR' means 'extended focus ring,' and allows parallax correction down to 10 yards--perfect for rimfire rifles. So one option is to look for one of these used; check the EE and other used sites. Another is to purchase a new or used Leupold-Freedom 3-9x33 EFR Fine Duplex, although the price may be more than you want to spend--probably in the $600 range. I believe that those who say that you shouldn't spend much on a rimfire scope are wrong. Good optics are just as important for the small targets we use 22s for as for the larger game we use a centerfire rifle for.

Just to clarify some things about set parallax distances, regular Leupold scopes (those without parallax adjustment) are set at the factory to be parallax-free at 150 yards. This can be altered to any distance you want by Korth, but having parallax adjustable via AO or side adjustment to any distance is preferable. Most other scope brands set the (nonadjustable) parallax to either 100 yards or, in the case of the European scopes, to 100 meters.

Love the Leupold line of rimfire scopes (own a few) but the pricing of late has become a little out there for many. As for something budget conscience, decent quality with a great warranty, give Burris a try. The 3-9x40 Droptine rimfire might be what you are looking for. With a Boxing Day Sale at Can Tire you might walk away with one for under $250 taxes in.
