Leupold Backcountry Ringmounts?

They do look Nicer for Sure ! There lower then what talleys ? in what size range ? there Med's are lower the Talleys med's or ?? Why no lows in Leupold ? Now how do you know they are made from BETTER MATERIAL ? How many sets of talleys have you had Brake ? Me NON Ever ? But not sayin there hasn't being a few sets !

Im not here for a fight Chuck - just looking for Good Info ! Thxs RJ

Apparently on 24Hr campfire there are a few claiming Talley's have failed on them. These guys do torture test's and throw their rifle's on rocks, brush and into creeks:eek::HR:

They promote the new leupold and show visual comparison on how much more steel there is on the leupold's.

I’m just looking for a particular set of rings that will work best for my intended application. If someone wants to use something else for theirs I’m fine with that.

To be fair, there isn’t any steel in either the Talleys in question, OR the Leupolds…

I’ve had 3 sets of Talleys break though, one was exposed to the rigors of riding around cradled in the backseat of my truck, one set cracked after being exposed to the radical hard use of being in the gun safe in my house. No creeks, rocks, or brush….

You must have had Guido the goon torque those rings with a 3’ snipe is what some of the experts will say!

I had one set break being strapped to a backpack. Got rid of all of them after that, never again.

The one I especially like is “you don’t own a high enough quality torque wrench to
properly torque them”.

Think I put the pic up before, of a buddies rifle on day one of a backpack stone sheep hunt where he put his rifle down, and a maybe a half minute later I heard a metallic PING and started looking at it to see if a screw had fallen out of his rifle or something. Nope. Base split lengthwise. He sure was glad he saved a couple ounces of ring and base weight so that he didn’t have to worry about actually taking any shots at sheep on that trip. Saved him from having to carry an extra 100 lbs of sheep out.

Smart guy.

Have you tried contacting shooters choice in Vulcan. He has always been helpful in the past for me at least. If he doesn’t have them he can tell if KORTH actually has any or not. You’ll at least have a better idea if nothing else.

I have old cheap ####ty Remington 700 1 piece cast bases made of Zamac or whatever that cheap alloy #### is, use them on Vanguards and anything else that takes 700 bases.
They were around $25 at SAIL when on sale, they are not light however, got some weight to them, have held zero very well, no failures lol.
Leupy back country pic base, open country rings at Epps would run $130-$140 and be a more solid and versatile setup...but that's just me.
