Leupold CDS dials

It is a Hokey system. I much prefer something like a DOA or an LRH reticle for that in a hunting scope. And the lower end Leupys don't track worth a darn.
If you want real dialing capability I would look to something like a midrange Sightron, Bushnell, etc.

We've shot CDS out to 1000 yards and back with the exact results you would want. The only hitch to the CDS is the data you provide - the dial is designed to work best with the parameters given. If your dial is built for cold temp at higher elevation, you might be disappointed shooting at sea level in the middle of August...

Every factory CDS equipped scope gets one free custom lasered dial - follow the link Buckmastr posted. Additional dials may be purchased for $107 CAD.

KGL

Since you realistically have to test your load at long range anyway; do this.

Zero your scope at your chosen yardage, taking the MPBR into consideration. Shoot at the farthest range you reasonably hope to shoot in the field and record the come-ups at that range.

Put the published B.C., and other inputs into the Ballistic calculator of your choice. If the results don't match your shooting results, make up velocities until your program tells you what you already know. When you send for your dial use the made up velocity number. It doesn't matter if the error is in the chronograph or the clicks or both you know its going to work with your load with your scope.

If the lie works better than the truth use the lie. :)

Sounds like you haven't used many CDS scopes? It's a good system, works great for hunting

Have you EVEN owne one or used one ? I have several and they work GREAT ! That saying Bushnell's DOA600 and Leupolds LR and B&C reticles work well too ! jmo RJ

Yea BUT Walter Buddy you called it a HOKEY system and it is NOT ! :slap: - Its a Very Good System ! Its Just not what you prefer ! :p RJ

And that is my choice since it is my money that I am spending. If you want to pay for my rifles, components and scopes then I will use whatever you say.
Until then.......... I have used the system by the way and my opinion remains the same.

Love them. They are great for 300- 1000 yard plinking. My hunting rifle as a set on the VX5.
