I just got my Leupold Freedom RDS and I’m not sure if it’s normal, but the dot, on lowest setting has what appears to be a vertical line above and below the dot.
Very small of course.
As the intensity is increased , the lines are more noticeable, until max intensity it then turns into a hazy red dot.

Anybody have one of these? Any issues?

Or is this normal?

I’ve owned way cheap RDS and the dot looked better.

Doesn't sound normal to me, and doesn't sound like typical starburst from eye related problems.

It would be helpful if you can take a photo and post it up here.

It’s hard to capture in a picture, maybe it’s not that bad.

I was expecting more of a perfect dot , but it’s more of an oval shape and the brighter it gets the more noticeable.
I thought it was maybe my aging eyes but the son said it looks crisp but it also looks more like an oval instead of a circle.

Hmmm... If it is your astigmatism, just looking at it through a phone camera will change the appearance of the dot. That's your indicator if it's you or the sight.

But I'd expect the dot to be round, so what your son says tells me that there's a problem with the sight. If you can't get a clear answer using the phone camera test, have a few more people look at it and confirm your son's observations. Korth should take care you, they've got a good reputation.

This optic is guaranteed for life, so if you would like us to inspect the dot, please send the optic to us. If you'd like more info, please email our Warranty and Service Dept. at warranty@korthgroup.com.
