Leupold freedom rimfire scope

I didn’t compare weight as I have some heavy Ken farrel rings on my vx2 efr lol. Makes it feel like a tank in weight. I looked at the coatings closely and noticed they are both basically identical except the new version has an extra fusia colour to it when the sunlight reflects off of it. The vx 2 has a violet colour. The new one has both colours so maybe they added an extra anti reflective coating? The fusia colour seemed to dim the reflection of the sunlight quite a bit more than the violet colour did. The turrets are honestly a tad better on the standard vx2. The new model that is. The finish is nothing to be worried about. Looks plenty fine to me and I’m a picky man. I would prefer the original black finish tho. The new finish leaves marks easier when your finger nail brushes against it you’ll see a white line. I guess it’s a tad bit more rough but not much. If you want pictures of the reticle you need to message me your email address. I don’t know how to post photos on the forums here. I absolutely diiiiig the new reticle. Gonna be a fun scope to use for rimfire is all I can say on both 22lr and 17 hmr! If they do release an efr model I’d prob buy one more cuz I may need one more rimfire scope. I may sell or trade off my new vx2 6-18 AO scope. Gotta thunk a little more on it tho.

Size is a definitely bigger on the pupil end of the scope and the magnification ring but it’s honestly more comfortable to zoom in with the new one. The center of the scope where the turrets are on is definitely not as slim and sleek. It actually looks nice to me tho. Prob look good on a fancy 10/22 more than a bolt action. I do think the vx 2’s are more desirable for the classic look they have especially when used on a bolt action rifle.

I just had a look at them both again. I am leaning on the side that the new freedom series is a TOUCH brighter than my vx2 efr scopes are. Over all I like my vx2’s better but the reticle and glass seems to be great for a scope that is less than 300$!

Where did you find a Freedom scope for less than 300$?

No problem guys.:)

It was 289.99 at prophet river. They had one show up that I know of and I jumped on it right away. I’m thinking they’ll get more?

Best affordable option I’d say

I looked through a 3-9 freedom today that a buddy got from Great North. He never said if it was a rimfire or not. Mounted on a Ruger gss .308 , regular duplex.
Bright sunny day, needless to say everything I glassed popped as crystal clear as leopy should.
I'll admit I've drank from the vortex cup for years now, but the next scope I buy will be a fredom (other than the cheap bushie ar I couldn't resist...).

Ya I think these scopes are a good value especially for a rimfire rifle. Reticle only has the hash marks on the elevation post not the Windage which is fine by me

Reliable gun has the vx-freedom rimfire scopes at a great price!
I just picked up the 2-7 for 249$
They also have the 3-9 for 295$

Mines going on an incoming shot show Buckmark rifle, ugh can’t wait

Yes! The shot show model has a heavy fluted barrel. It should be a beauty.

Did the owners manual have recommendations for the reticle subtensions?
With the target barrel I plan on sighting in at 50 but taking it to 75 and 100.
Be awesome if it line up with the reticle!

That will be a lovely setup. I’d like to shoot one and see how it feels. So I did another comparison today and the freedom series has a definite edge in brightness over my 600$ vx2 efr scope!

I got my vx-freedom rimfire 2-7x33mm, super impressed and happy with it. Not sure rimfire scopes get any better for the price!
