Hi there! I'm looking to mount a new Bushnell 3200 3-10X40 on my AR-180b and was looking into the one peice mounts made for ARs.
My options (without going too expensive ie. LaRue or GG&G) are:
- Burris P.E.P.R. : Seems to be the new "go-to" mount everyone is talking about. Priced around $100. Complaints with QD system and remounting and just general quality concerns is what I have heard. Made in China.
- RRA Hi-Rise Cantelever : Priced around $65 and made in the USA. Kind of clunky looking and heavy but solid and good reviews.
and the one I have been considering most: Leupold IMS Mark 2. Seems to be get great reviews, Leupold warrenty (how good that is in Canada is another question) and sleek and lighter. Priced also around $100 and I'm not sure where it is made.
The thing is, the AR-180b has a chunky rear sight and I'm concerned about clearance. My dads RRA Hi-Rise Cantelever mount clears with room to spare but I can't find any info on Leupold clearance height and was wondering if anyone had any experience.
I'm not sold on the Leupold but any experience with any of the above systems (or others!) is greatly appreciated!
