Building a super lightweight 4lb 13oz ATRS MS in 223, no expense spared. Intended use is for hunting <200m but especially low/last light. I'm staying with Leupold for being lightweight, most of their 1.5-4s are 9.3 oz. I wont entertain anything over 13oz... as I see the vx5hd specs, but dont need 30mm tube or want the weight

I'm leaning to the vx3i 1.5-5, in german#4, has anyone compared these or has experience with?

There are some great deals on the Mark AR 1.5-4 with illuminated ret spr-g. I really like an illum ret, but how is the glass?
or Even the VXR patrol firedot ( a little heavier at 12oz) has good used deals right now. Both <$500

Then there is the VxFreedom 1.5-4 which comes with a great price, Which is probably all I really need, the new(?) twightlight max coating might be enough?

I also have a holosun 2moa already to go at 5oz with mount, but with my faxon barrel, im barely getting 4sih moa at 100 with budget fmj 55gr. I'm hoping with some better loads and optic can get her at 2moa. Who else hunts with a reddot under 200m?

The biggest challenge we see for consumers is looking through a scope at comparable light to when we hunt. Most purchases occur in a retail store in the middle of the day - this is not optimal light to look at optics...

From our experience at Leupold's optics academy, the VX-Freedom will perform in low light far beyond any optic in this price range. Additionally, the Twilight lens coating is slightly more advanced than the coatings on the Mark AR and VX-R scopes.

If you can swing the VX-3i, you will certainly not be disappointed. The Twilight Max lens coatings are a decent step up from the standard Twilight coating.

Let us know if you need any other info,
KGL
