I am looking for a m14 scope to use with my arms 18 mount and one person has pointed me to these scopes as sold by jackyiscxd here on CGN. has anyone had any experience with these replica scopes? or should i just go with a bushnell 3200 elite 10X mildot.....any help would be great guys from people who have tryed these out.

The Bushnell fixed 10x scope is a known quantity. Lots of guys on this forum have used them and they work just fine.

I got one of the "Leupold replica" scopes last week and will be taking it to the range this Sunday to see how it performs. I intend to post my comments after the range trip. First impressions of the Leupold replica, however, are pretty favourable - the quality appears to be quite good. No idea how it puts up with recoil or repeated adjustments, though, nor do I know (yet) how much adjustment it offers.

I plan on mounting one on my .338 Win Mag (Tikka 695) and putting 40 or 50 rounds through it this Sunday. The idea is to see if anything fails internally as well as seeing how well it tracks/returns to zero when adjusting elevation and windage.

If it survives the .338, I think it'll probably be OK with most calibers.

great, let us know how it performs....if it handles .338 it will easily work for .308

I am also interested in any feed back about these scopes, I am trying to decide what to mount on my M-305 ( on a budget) and these caught my eye as well.
Can't wait to hear the range report, keep us posted.

even tho the leupold replica seems to be getting good reviews i think i will play it safe with the 3200....cant beat something thats proven the test of time. Has anyone tried the banner series 6-24x mildot scope on something with recoil simular to a m14?

Platnumbob, if you are mounting a fairly heavy scope on a gen-3 type light alloy mount it may damage the mount under recoil if the screws aren't very tight. And maybe if they are. the damage happens at the "locator grooves" on the left side of the receiver. The aluminum just can't hack the torque.

im using an arms 18....so becuse its steel i wont have this problem. but thats interesting, i didnt think that the actual mount itself could be damaged by recoil, i was always more worried about scopes.

I think the problem with the mount damage isn't just because it's aluminum, it's the height that gives leverage to the heavy scope under recoil. In the next month-or-so I'm going to try an aluminum ARMS copy, we'll see how that works.

Just got mine

Just picked one up on Friday, mounted on my Weatherby .270 Win and headed out to Burke Mtn. Put about 60 rounds thru starting at 25 yds, then 75 yds and finally at 100 yds.

30 mm tube, so I lucked out and got a pair of Leopold rings off a guy in the Buy/Sell. I sure like the optics. Nice and clear, easy to focus, comes in bright. Didn't get a chance to do any tight groups, as I was just getting the scope set up, and I'm using half a dozen different types of ammo to find what the .270 likes.

Anyway, the accuracy will take another trip to the range. It's a nice sturdy built scope.
