So this landed a lot sooner than I expected. Had been waiting to see these come available, and put in my order beginning of January to try to beat the rush and by gum it worked
. I had usually shied away from Leupold in a precision optic as they really were not keeping up in a very competitive market and when you are dropping a lot of cash on a scope I could never bring myself to compromise the features I was after. But I do have to say this appears to be a pretty dramatic catch up, and I am very impressed.
Optically- To try and compare with much more expensive scopes would be futile to my eyes, it's very very good and I would not be in a hurry to upgrade for marginally better (If at all) glass.
Mag range- 3.6-18 , thank you for that! And very good eye relief throughout.
Zero stop- Whoever came up with this must have had a eureka moment because it is so drop dead simple and fool proof its unbelievable. And user friendly, one of my first annoyances with this thing was the one page user manual. One page? Really? As it turns out no instructions needed, very easy.
Windage- Can run capped or un capped and something interesting here is the hash mark on the scope to line up with the dial is off set to the top, looks totally bizarre and counter intuitive until you get behind the thing. No more craning your neck sideways to check windage value, just move your eye off the scope and its right there for you, very cool. Next annoyance, windage stops at 5 mils either way and if you need more it will be holdoffs. No biggie for me i seldom use the 5 mils anyway.
FFP- As always, big thumbs up for me.
Wasn't really trying to write a review here but did want to give my fellow gunnutz a peek at this as it comes out! Oh and I like to keep it simple so TMR reticle for me, can't give you any insight on the new CCH
