Leupold Mark 6 3-18 thoughts?

I saw that video. The leupold stuff just seems to get no love in CGN. Is it dealer or availability issues? Pricing in canada? Everything is NF or S&B it seems.

I have the Mark 6 1X6, and I'm using the Bushnell ERS, the Bushnell has come a looong way, since the 10X40. My next scope will be the Leupold 3X18, just because I'm impressed with the 1X6. If you need some "hands on" PM Gadget he is an "end user". The 1X6 sits on a Colt 901 and the Bushnell is on a Stiller action set up for long range. The price may have something to do with it? in the US the price point is about the same, but here there is a bit of a difference.

Just to add the 3X18 is one of the lightest scopes out there, more so than the Vortex etc. For some "end users" that's huge.

My local dealer as one in stock. He offered it to me for 2 grands.
I say thanks but I will go Nightforce for that kind of money.

Calgary Shooting Center has one here with an ADM QR mount for $3200. I love it for the compact nature (it would be on my Nemesis 308) but wow....$$$$

Reviews are excellent, but thats a lot of cheddar. Creeping into March / S&B territory quickly.

I think Leupold has always been bad for that. Either way, great reviews.

I'm headed down to try it on the rifle now. Might be a winner, not sure yet.

Seems like the price is the same across a few Canadian dealers, or at least close.

Its not a very popular scope because the reticle choices are pretty poor (reticle is important on an FFP scope) and the high end of the magnification tops out at 18x. For the same price you can get the new Gen 2 Razor that has up to 27x magnification and nicer reticles. Weight isn't a big deal to most on a heavy boltgun.

If you want small, light and compact, look at the March 3-24x42 or 3-24x52.

I ended up with the Tremor 2 reticle.

Mounted in ATRS rings. Weight and size was big for me with this Nemesis to be portable. I intend to use the gun for 400-500 MAX range for gongs, milk jugs and coyotes, so it should work well.
