What a load of sh*t! Guess the $4500 price gouge wasn't well received by consumers. Dropping the price $1500 isn't a product of "efficiencies", if there were that many efficiencies to be had Leupold isn't running a very efficient operation. Nothing but double talk from a company concerned more about gouging their customers than providing a value product. It's no wonder they've lost market share to the competition. I've always maintained the high end optics were over priced, proof right here we're being taken to the cleaners, and it's got nothing to do with quality and everything to do with what the market will bear.

There's always a large large profit margin when it comes to known brands. That being said, this is as you say a BS excuse for lowering their price point to stimulate sales. The mark 8 is a nice optic but it still is not worth the $3000 price tag. Perhaps at half that again I would consider one.

I was thinking of purchasing this optic until I saw the price tag and would have considered it at half the price (maybe), but even 3000 i think is too much. Glad I went Vortex instead of Leupold.
