Im wondering how well leupolds hold their value and a general price check. I may be able to pick up a VX-lll 2.5-8X 36 Boone and Crockett recticle Matte scope and a VX-lll 4.5-14 X40mm LR 30mm tube matte Varmint Hunter's recticle. I am wondering what these scopes would be worth brand new on the second hand market.

Thanks in advance

they hold their value fairly well due to their quality and lifetime warranty

the 2.5-8 should be worth around $600

and the 4.5-14 around $700?

Yeah the 4.5-14 X 50's with B/C reticle are over 900 bucks down here... just bought one... I could have sold it twice since for the same money... they hold there value very well

$721.45 and $985.45 respectively. Lebarons.

Both are beautiful scopes and will stand up to most hunting conditions. They're warranty is second to none and their customer service is unmatched.

Expect to pay at least $600.00 and $800.00 respectively, used/new.

Good luck

I must be living right...I have two 2.5-8X Leo's, paid $350 for one and $400 for the other in the last 1-1/2 years

Someone up there really likes you ... a LOT.

All My rifles wear Leupold optics except a couple of low priced 22 rimfires. I believe that for the money, they are about as good as it gets. I particularly like the 6x fixed power for hunting, and the 6x42 is one of the best pieces of glass I have ever mounted on a rifle [I have 4 of these] But even the 6x36 is great and has a long enough tube to mount on a longer receiver without special rings. I have never had a Leupold [fixed power or variables] fail in the field in 30 years. Regards, Eagleye.
