Leupold reticle question

Looking to perhaps pick up a VX5HD 3-15x44 CDS ZL2 with the impact 29 reticle. It would be an online order and would like to know if the reticle is maybe to thin for hunting use... or would a firedot be a better choice?

Would go on my Nosler M48 Liberty chambered in 30 Nosler.

I just picked up the same scope less than two weeks ago. It is way nicer than anything I had before. It is on a Dlask/Kidd build right now, but will eventually go on a hunting rig in the future. At first I loved the impact29 recticle, but for any off hand quick shots I loose the recticle. For solely hunting I think the other recticles would be way better. It is too thin, and easy to get confused with all the markings. As just a scope review, I think you’ll be happy. It is so bright and clear, I don’t hardly ever need to turn the magnification up.
 
I received the scope today, still waiting on the talley rings though. The glass is great but the reticle is a bit on the thin side. Low light as in close to legal shooting time I can still make out the reticle in the dark spruce boughs from my back deck but a thick reticle or firedot would be nicer in that application.
In regular light conditions I think it will be the cats meow as a all around hunting/longrange scope....:)
 
The Impact 29 reticle looks a little too busy for a hunting reticle. On the flip side, my firedot reticles are pretty thick, I think the dot is 1 MOA, which I find less than ideal for target shooting. When I'm trying to shoot groups with the firedot I try and put the 10 o'clock position of the firedot onto the lower RH corner of a 1-1.5" bold square. I had a SIII 8-32 with the target dot and it washed out at dusk for hunting and was not ideal....
