I never really looked at the VX-3i scopes all that much. I still have a couple of the older VX-3 scopes and quite like them and don't feel the need to get rid of them anytime soon but will check out the VX-3HD versions next time I'm in my LGS. Sounds like they have some good glass in them.

Yeah they are continually upgrading and increasing the price. Not sure I can tell the difference looking through them though.

I dont see the new line as an upgrade.
Limited reticles,no MOA dials and lack of side parallax, that appears to be down grading,to me anyways.
And I highly doubt the glass is any better, not better enough that anybody will notice ,anyways.
And what happens with the 6.5-20 and 8 25 series?

Also,if you look at the American sites, optic planet etc.
The scopes are 2,3 hundred cheaper ,after conversion.

I have a VX3i 8.5-25x50 LRP with the TMR reticle
and just love it.
Looking at the new VX3HD they are a couple hundred less for the
6-24x50 , I do .like the look .

They ALL ( US dealers) buy direct from Leupold - Korth buys Leupold from Leupold and then sells to Canadian dealers - There's the EXTRA Cost there ! RJ

That is not accurate as independent US distributors mostly buy direct from Leupold and then turn around and sell those to the various US dealers. I sat on the Leupold Dealers Council a few years ago and that was the situation then. The US dealers (I was the only Canadian) were surprised that I had only one choice of distributor as they were either part of a dealers buying group or dealt with the distributor of their choice. There were some differences in prices offered but it was mostly on clearance items or large bulk purchases. The main US dealers complaint was the lack of complete inventory or reluctance of distributors to inventory less popular items. There were surprised how much inventory Korth Group kept in stock at most times as US distributors kept far less available in stock. Phil.

I'm not sure I agree they are upgrading, but they certainly are increasing the price. I believe they "say" they are upgrading.

In the old days, before they knew any better, you could get a good quality scope without a car loan.

I have a VX3i z1.5-5x20 and I like it!! I would love to see a similar scope with 30mm tube 1.5-6 or something like that!!

Im shocked at this statement as speaking to several retailers in BC the can even get a VX3i or VX3HD or VX5HD scope from Korth as they just don't carry inventory ?

If Korth carries so much stock where is it and why can't the retailers get it ?

We are at the mercy of Leupold's production. Large amounts of back orders are in place with Leupold - we have to patiently await delivery. In a normal year, Phil's statement is absolutely true.

I thought the "i" series VX-3 were just a little cheaper made than the VX-3 they replaced. I've heard some joking that "i" mean "Imported" as in using some imported assemblies internally, but who knows........

It is not just Korth via Leupold that is behind on optics supply, not only to Canada but the USA as well. I'm sure that covid kept a lot of workers home from the various factories around the globe. Also the USA consumers are still hording in many hunting and shooting situations however some inventory is now starting to flow to Canada including Leupold and our inventories are starting to fill in again. Phil.

Many manufacturers are going thru parts / supplies and staff reductions it may take a year to stabilize

Korth listed the msrp in their thread. Looks like all the new vx3hd scopes are cds.

Correct - we are experiencing the same delays from all of our vendors. COVID created complications for all stages of production, shipping, customs clearance, etc.

We hope only a year... Consumer demand is constant right now, so the industry might be in catch-up mode for a while.

For sure they are - the new VX-3HD features CDS-ZL1 adjustors on all models, a removable throw lever for the power selector ring, and updated lens coatings.

We certainly appreciate the conversation here - a lot of solid contribution from all.

Why is the 2.5-8 $100 more than the 3.5-10?

100-180616 VX-3HD 2.5-8x36 (1 inch) CDS-ZL Duplex $899.00
100-180617 VX-3HD 3.5-10x40 (1 inch) CDS-ZL Duplex $799.00
