Leupold Rifleman 3-9 x40 decent scope?

rifleman is great but for a little more i would really lok at the VX-I you get 1/4"click @100yards(rifleman is 1/2"click).and the VX-I is multy coated lens.average cost is about 20-30$ more.i have both and would say the clearty is the same...

Thank you guys will look into it.

I know the 1/4" inch click is nice and which I prefer so I will do a little more scope hunting.

Cheers
:)

I noticed it in the BassPro flyer recently so I plan to take a look at one soon. They also have decent sale prices on VX-I and VX2-II so hopefully I can compare them all side by side.

What I am wondering is it is superior to a Bushnell 3200???

The Elite 3200 has been a pretty decent value for scopes but maybe the Leopuld Rifleman series is better.

I have a Rifleman 4-12x40 and a 3200 1.5-4.5x32. The Bushnell is clearer, to my eyes.

Can't comment on Rifleman scopes, but I have a VX-1 3x9-40 and my body got a 3200 in 3x9-40 around the same time. We have compared them side by side many times. It takes about 10 seconds to see that the VX-1 is much clearer than the Bushnell.

That hasn't been my experience.I find the 3200 at least equal optically to the VX-1,and possibly even better.

The Rifleman is a decent scope, but I feel that it is overpriced for what you get.

Doing day and night tests with both my Elite 3200 3-9X40 and my VXII 3-9X40 I couldn't find a damned difference reading street signs and such at 100-300 yards.

not a very scientific test i know...but my 2 cents...
