Has anyone used one of these lower priced Leupolds with the friction dials. Just wondering how they compare to the higher priced models.

My opinion is either get the VX2 or personally the VX3 if you are going to buy a Leupold. I don't like the friction dials. Plus with the VX3 you have the choice of the B&C or Varmint reticle. I found the B&C works great for my wife's and mine Tikka T3 LS 270WSMs.

I think the VXI's are ok as well. They appear to be the same as the old VXII's. The Rifleman series however is Leupold attempt to get a piece of the lower end action.

Still offering a full warranty I suspect Leupolds repair department will eventually be bogged down like the one for Bushnell.

I have one of the Rifleman scopes on my muzzle loader and no problems with it yet, still very nice clear optics....at very least better than any old bushnell for the price.

I didn't like my VXI I had...I cant imagine the Rifleman to be any better :|

make it a new VXII for me, I got them on all three of my hunting rifles and I love them

I agree completely with getting the VXII, I have one on my 7mm mag and its great but maybe the cost is an issue and for the money the rifleman isnt bad.
