the rifleman were the older two piece tube design. i still have one and its been mounted on a 338 and a 7 mag. works fine. i don't see any difference with the vx1 glass and rifleman.

I bought a Rifleman from Cabelas last year to mount on my K98 for the moose hunt. The glass is very clear and with a BDC sight which I prefer. With hometown hero's and the current price it was 169... couldn't beat that for another Leopold. Works well enough as a set it and forget it scope for hunting big game out to 300m. Light was pretty good through the scope under the trees in the morning.

There's fancier scopes with more dials but the American does the job well enough at the price where if I fall and smash it on a rock i won't be a big loss.

I have a rifleman 3x9x50 on a muzzleloader. Probably close to 10 yrs now and never an issue. The glass is plenty clear imo

Looks good and fits well on my CZ527.
