leupold 11mm rings, on a zastava z5....not as precise a fit as I was expecting, still seems solid enough, but is the wide gap normal?

I tried Leupold 11mm rings just now and have the same gap. Pull out a set of Burris 3/8 and they fit perfectly. So, I would suggest using Burris Custom Steel rings.

3/8 are measured to the groove bottom and 11mm are measured to the point of the dovetail

Well, there, I learned something new today. Thanks! But he did say that he measured the dovetail at .430", so I'm still thinking there is something amiss with the "11mm" rings he has.

That's it..what did you expect? If you want the plate straighter for a cleaner look small washers can be installed till you have just enough screw space for a firm clamp on the mount. It's a .22 and there is no recoil. There are other mounts that have a long bolt going thru the mount giving clamping force on both sides but the theory is still the same.https://www.google.ca/search?q=.22+...2Findex.php%2F20108%2Fnikon-p-22%2F;1810;1030

the plates weren't inverted, just switched them back

I can live with the gap, they are still plenty sturdy enough for a rimfire, just seemed like a sloppy fit that wasn't on par with my other dovetail rings

thanks for the help
