leupold rimfire rings - gap when mounted

the leupold 3/8 rings I just pulled off a differebt rifle, they have a much closer fit, much smaller gap...I was expecting the same

but I guess this is good then?

If you don't like the fit/look put them in the "spare parts bin"and get another type.After a few years you will dig thru your inventory and "oh ya" I got these that will fit that gun and another problem will be solved!

While they might work just fine as is, I sure wouldn't leave it like that. That poor of a fit would irritate me every time I saw it.

Not all rings are equal, that is in fact a 11mm dovetail, lots of info over on RFC about rings for the Z5, what fit and what didn't........leupy was bottom of the pile for the reasons you experienced, lots of good options posted over there..........

just go and get Burris Custom Steel rimfire rings
They will fit perfectly.

this is basically what will happen eventually

rings are fine for the time being...I have the burris rings locally, but they have that large bolt head to fasten, the leupold rings are cleaner looking (aside from the gap)...might try some warne rings sooner or later

but for now the gritty, creepy trigger has moved up the priority list to work on
