Leupold ringmounts and magnums

I have a sako 75 338 win mag I currently have Sako optilock two pieces bases and rings and the scope sits way too high for my liking. Would I come along any issues down the road with running low Leopold ring mounts I run them on my standard action and I love them

I've always been told the leupold standard were no good for the heavy hitters but I wonder if the dual dovetail set up is more stout? My guess would be yes.

Can you get Talley one piece rings/mounts for Sakos? I have a set on a CZ, like them.

Scope hasn't been bucked off my .458 Lott using Leupold Ring Mounts.

The Burris bases that slide over the dovetail are also quite strong. The base is one piece, and it is jammed tighter under recoil, so it isn't coming loose.

Maybe my personal preference, but I like Talley's that have the one piece base. Less moving parts means more stability and strength.

But don't they screw down under your dovetail so you always get screw marks

for the leupold dual dove tail it lasted for the 7 previous years on a 338-378 so not a problem and that was recommended by leupold support tech in USA.

Leupold Ring Mounts work fine for me. Never considered using anything else. Never an issue on my .300 WM Grey Wolf or .375 H&H Kodiak either.

I have the 30mm sako ringmounts on my .338. I had to remove the recoil pin to get enough room to mount my VXR.

I use the leupold mounts on my other Sako's.

Ive got leupolds on my .338 RUM they hold zero with no problem

I have used dual dovetails on a bunch of guns up to 460Wby. Never a problem. Standard ones I had issues with a 35 whelen. DD is just better. Talleys are real good also. Not sure how they work on Sako

Leupold on my 300 RUM for the past 17 years. Works fine unless you are constantly twisting the rings in and out. Then they eventually wear and get play in them. Talley is another good way to go.

I never had a problem with the standard rings on my 338 win mag or the 375 h&h that is now sold. I switched to Talley rings on my 338.

100 % correct i have Talleys on 75% of my rifle FLEET ! RJ

I’ve passed on sako’s, and sold sako’s when I discovered those mentioned setscrew marks. I can’t handle knowing they are there....

I use Leupold ringmounts on practically eveything. My 8mm Rem Mag and 338 Win Mag get dual dovetails.
All the rest get STD types with adjustable windage at the rear. I have never had an issue with these setups.
They must have decent integrity, because several other makers have rings that fit these Leupold bases. EE.

They have never moved on my .350 RM, 9.3X62, .375 H&H, .405, .416, .45/90, .458 etc... I tend to load "peppy" so you are probably good to go.
