For those who are confused about the Leupold model numbers...

1) old Vari-xII changed to VX-I => no current equivalent. These had fully coated lenses and friction dials.

2) old Vari-xIII changed to VX-II, and now are VX1. These are multi-coated and now have finger click adjustments

3) VX-III are now known as VX2, index matched lenses, finger click dials.

4) VX3 are new models, twilight coatings with diamond coat2, finger clicks.

5) VXR are in between the vx2 and vx3 in regards to glass and coatings.

Hope this helps folks buying and selling these, so you know what you are getting.

VXR has etched reticle, the rest are wire. (cant speak toward the mark 4 and tacticals)

VXR, VX3 and VX6 have the twin bias springs, the lower models don't.

It is the optical equivalent of the new VX1, but the VX1 has gone one step further and has the finger click adjustments.

Don't know. I was speaking mostly of the duplex, lrd, wide dp, etc. they have around 30 reticles.
