Just mounted a new vx-3 on one of my rifles. I used leupold std rings and a one piece std base. I was always told 18-22 inch pounds on rings, and just for the hell of it I watched a scope mounting video on YouTube... Was by the product manager of leupold & Stevens, and he said 18-22 inch pounds. However, according to the mounting instructions with the rings, it recommends 28 inch pounds. Isn't that a little on the snug side ?
