Leupold Varix-II vs VX-II what's the diff ?

I have a few of the older varix-II and varix-IIc's and i think they are pretty good scopes for the money I paid for them . What is the difference with the newer VX-II's ?

There is also some differences internally between Vari X II and VXII. Basically you can get a little more adjustment from the VXII.

The newest Vari X 11s must be about 16 years old now. Still seem to be holding in there.

Im thinking of replacing my Varix-11 2-7x33 with VX-II 3-9x40. As much as I like how light it is Im not totally happy with the its low light performance. That 40mm cant that much heavier.

 

[Wrong Way]

I own several of each (Although they are III's), and believe it or not, the optics in the 3 vari's are actually better than my 4 VX's.....can't explain why, perhaps better glass in the older models.
