Leupold VX-1 3-9 X 40 opinions

Kevan

I think that there are better scopes available on the used market for similar money. I would rather have a used Burris or Leupold of a higher model range than a new VX1.

Upgrade to the VXII or VX2 as they carry the lifetime guarantee for repair or replacement. Anything further up the product line carries the same guarantee. The vx1 does not.

Good fit on my browning, got it for $250 from SFRC #L113874, the turret adjustments suck. Not very tactile. And I don't recall it being resettable like my nikons.

WRONG.....

VX-1's and VX-I's for that matter are full "Gold Ring" lifetime warranty. The Rifleman series is as well.

If it makes you feel any better. I got 2 black bears with my Ruger Alaskan .375 Ruger while it had a VX1 3-9x40 atop it. I probably shot about 90 rounds with it mounted and it held like a trooper. I switched to a 2.5-8x36 VXIII for obvious reasons, but I would not hesitate to use another if I needed one.
