Leupold VX-1, 3-9x/40 or Bushnell 3-9x ?

Guy's and gal's i'm buying my first rifle scope for my M14, and i want to spend about $300,


Would you go with a duplex sight over mil-dot ? and or, a Leupold or bushnell both around the same price .


Leupold VX-1, 3-9x/40 or Bushnell 3-9x


Also, does the Leupold VX-1, match up well with the ARMS 18 mount ?

i have two vxi's 3-9x40 and one vxiii3.5-10x40. this past deer season was pretty wet/snowy and sometimes warm and i had issues with my leupolds. fog on the outside of the lenses and when there was water on the lenses i couldn't see anything through them....nothing but blur. my cousin has a bushnell 3800 (or 3200, whatever) 1.5-6 with firefly recticle and rainguard...sight picture was crystal clear even with water on the lenses. i'll be getting bushnells from here on, i'll leave my leupolds for the bench with the nice weather.

I have never had a chance to compare them in the wet and snow. Good to know! Thanks:D
 
I picked up a mint VXII from Epps for under $300, and I love the scope. Can't say I have ever used a 3200, but I have no need too.
 
My 3200 has been on my T3 for a few years now and it's never let me down. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one, and just might do that once I build another rig.

I have both and for a hunting rifle the 3200 wins hands down, been out in snow, sleet, rain, etc. and always able to see through the scope, even when my hunting partners scope was fogged over.
 
For $300 I beleive you can get a 4200 Elite in 3-9x40. IMO, the sight picture on a 4200 is better than a VXII, but not as good as a VXIII. And the Rainguard is fantastic, it has NEVER let me down in 10 years. It doesn't matter if it rains, snows, you accidentally breathe on it, you can see through it.
 
OK you guys sold me, i've basically decided on the 3200 but now i'm thinking about the reticle, I would to use a mil-dot reticle but i would also like it to be illuminated.

Does the 3200 come with an illuminated recticle ?
 
the VX1 series scopes is one of the best values on the market. value priced, very bright, and leupold service.

bushnell service this side of the 49th sucks big time.
