Leupold VX-1 or Bushnell 3200?

For the same price as the VX-1 and the 3200 you can buy a Nikon Buckmaster that is a far better scope. The light gathering is even better than the Leupold VX II and the clarity of the glass compares to the VX III. I think they are the best scope value on the market today.

When did the Bushnell warranty become unsatisfactory? I have returned at least 6 or 7 Bushnell or Tasco scopes over the years, some of which I bought second hand, and always had prompt, efficient service with no hassle at all. I now usually buy the better quality ones and haven't sent one back in 5 years or more. I find the Elite excellent. I just ordered my first Legend. I've had 2 Trophy Mil-dots for a few years that I'm very happy with. I just wish they had more in target scopes.

By the way, does anyone know what the ballistic reticle available on one of the Elite 3200 scopes is? It's not on their web site and not in my 2002 catalogue.

I bought a 3x9x40 Nikon Buckmaster and so far I'm quite impressed. It's only seen range duty so far though. Lovely image. Lots of eye relief on these scopes.

In my shopping experience there is price difference though. Best deals I can find right now are the Elite 3200 for ~$250, the Rifleman for ~$300 and the Buckmaster for ~$340.

I've been thinking of trying a 3200 next :)

Personally, I think the 3200 is a brighter scope than the VX-1. I'd take it over the VX-1. It would be a tie with the VX-II so for me it would be either/or in a 3200 vs VX-II debate.

I really like the Nikons, they have leading optics in photography and bring over the same technologies to the scopes, thats why the brightness and clarity.
And they are reasonably priced too.
